1. Who we are
World of Femininity ("WoF", "we", "us") is an educational website that teaches femininity skills. We are based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and our data hosting infrastructure is located in Sydney (AWS Asia Pacific region). This policy explains what information is handled when you use the site, why, and the choices you have. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles under thePrivacy Act 1988 (Cth), and, where they apply to you, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.
2. Using WoF without an account (the default)
You can use everything on WoF without signing up. When you do:
- Your name (whatever you enter at onboarding; a nickname is perfectly fine), your preferences (theme, pronouns, goals), progress through the Garden, rosettes, journal entries, favourites and quiz results are saved in your browser'slocal storage and IndexedDB on your device.
- Optional uploads (photos or audio recordings you add as evidence for tasks) are saved in your browser's IndexedDB on your device.
- This data is not sent to us. We cannot see it, and we cannot recover it if you clear your browser data or lose your device.
3. If you create an optional account
Creating an account lets you sync your garden between devices. If you do:
- Account details: your email address and password are handled by Amazon Cognito, an authentication service from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Passwords are never stored by us in readable form. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address, name and a unique account identifier with us; Google's own privacy policy applies to your Google account.
- Synced data: the profile, progress, schedule and journal data described above is stored in an encrypted database (Amazon DynamoDB) linked to your account.
- Uploads: photos and audio you choose to attach while signed in are stored in a private Amazon S3bucket linked to your account and are only accessible to you through the app (via short-lived, signed links).
- This data is stored by AWS in the Asia Pacific (Sydney) region, Australia. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and encrypted at rest.
We use this information solely to provide the account and sync features. The legal basis (for UK/EU users) is performance of our agreement with you.
4. Zero tracking cookies, zero advertising, zero analytics
We believe that exploring femininity and self-expression requires an environment of complete trust and psychological safety. For this reason:
- No Google Analytics or trackers: we do not load Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any other user tracking or telemetry scripts.
- No AdSense or advertising: we do not run Google AdSense or display third-party advertisements.
- No tracking cookies: we do not set tracking, profiling, or marketing cookies.
Essential local storage: The site uses your browser's local storage and IndexedDB strictly to store your learning progress, custom schedule, journal entries, chosen palette theme, motion preferences, and authentication session tokens if you choose to sign in. These are strictly functional and do not require cookie consent under Australian, UK, or EU law.
5. Embedded videos and external links
Some lessons embed YouTube videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When you play a video, YouTube (Google) may collect information under its own policy. Links to other websites and community resources are provided for convenience; their privacy practices are their own.
6. Hosting and infrastructure
WoF is hosted on AWS. Like most websites, our content delivery network (Amazon CloudFront) may briefly process technical information such as IP address, browser type and requested pages to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Our fonts and assets are self-hosted, so no external requests are made to font or stylesheet providers.
7. Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the infrastructure providers named above (AWS in Sydney for hosting, authentication, database storage and media storage; and Google for sign-in if you choose it), or where strictly required by law.
8. Keeping and deleting your data
- Export: go to Settings to download a JSON copy of all your local data at any time.
- Delete local data: use the reset option in Settings, or clear your browser's site data for World of Femininity.
- Delete your account: use the delete account option in Settings. This immediately purges your account, synced data and media uploads from our database and storage; residual backups are deleted automatically within 35 days.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage and delete all your data directly in Settings; for anything else, please contact us. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may lodge a complaint with theOffice of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the UKInformation Commissioner's Office (ICO), or your local privacy authority.
10. Children
WoF is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. In the UK and EU, you must be at least 16 to create an account. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Security
Data in transit is encrypted with TLS/HTTPS, and all database and media storage in AWS is encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256. Data stored on your device is protected by your device's own operating system security.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
This privacy policy and your use of World of Femininity are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. All cloud data is stored in the AWS Asia Pacific (Sydney) region, Australia.
