Five-Minute Styles
Claw clip, sleek ponytail, a simple braid and a sprinkle of accessories - try your first easy styles at home.
Styles for every length
Short to chin length: headbands, a tiny side twist pinned with a snap clip, pearl barrettes, a silk scarf tied as a band, a mini claw clip holding the front back.
Shoulder length and up: half-up claw clip, a low ponytail with a scrunchie, a simple braid tucked behind one ear.
Long: the classic claw clip twist, a sleek or high ponytail, a fishtail braid, a messy bun.
Little tricks
- Second-day hair holds styles better than freshly washed hair. A spritz of dry shampoo or texture spray adds grip.
- Wrap a strand around your ponytail and pin it under to hide the elastic - instant polish.
- Pancake your braid: gently tug the edges to make it look fuller.
- Mess is a style. A few loose face-framing pieces look intentional and soft.
The accessory drawer
You donβt need much: a couple of claw clips (medium and large), scrunchies, snap clips, bobby pins that match your hair colour, and one fancy piece (pearls, a velvet bow, a silk scarf). High-street accessory shops, pharmacies and department stores (Claireβs, Lovisa, Primark, Target) have all of these for very little money.
